Many people are unaware of the problems that water in fuel can cause. Droplets of water are idea carriers
of rust and dirt, whilst one small drop of water may cause blockage of a fuel pump, cutting off the fuel
supply. Water may also be the cause of rust in the pump or in the injectors, resulting in failure and
potentially expensive repairs.
Fuel tanks in boats often contain some water, usually the result of condensation or which has seeped in
through the deck entry. Similarly, fuel tanks may contain dirt, which is too much for the engine primary
filter to handle. Thus, a Vetus fuel separator/ fuel filter is no not a luxury, but a necessity.
