These classic cowl ventilators are available in a choice of deck fixings.

Vetus Chinook cowl ventilators are made from silicone rubber, which looks and feels like organic rubber but has a flexible feel and the ability to withstand large ranges in temperature. They will not discolour in UV light.

Chinook replaces the previous Tom PVC cowl ventilators, which have been discontinued. Chinook is a direct replacement for Tom.

The Chinook ventilator is available in two versions:
- standard, with a synthetic deck ring nut, which can be loosened by hand to allow the ventilator to be rotated or removed
- type S, with screwed-down synthetic ring

A set comprising mosquito screen and stainless steel cover plate is available.

These ventilators may be fitted with a dorade box, which incorporates a mushroom vent to enable the vent to be shut off from the cabin below.

Please note that the cowls are not available as a spare part: if you require a replacement cowl for an older Vetus cowl vent, please order the -S type and discard the fixing ring
